If you're in the market for a good deal on hard drives, even SCSI drives, check out Bason Computer. They have a wide selection of SCSI and IDE drives at excellent prices. Some of the drives they carry are hard to find, out of date (but new), and unusual configurations. Naturally, they have many up-to-date and common drives on hand as well.
They list each drive in a table with a description including rotational speed, average access time, manufacturer and model number, connector type, and, of course, price. They also distinquish between "half-height" and "low profile" drives, so you don't accidently get a drive that won't quite fit in your bay.
If you're looking for SCSI wide, narrow, differential, or SCA drives, they have them.
Of less interest to me, but valuable nonetheless, is their IDE drive section. Today they have 22 different model IDE drives with prices ranging from $39 (540 MB Maxtor) to $135 (7200 RPM 9.1 GB Seagate). They also have a larger Seagate, at 13.6 GB and 5400 RPM, for $129.
While the quoted prices will change regularly, the good deals will not. Bason has been very competitive in hard drives on both price and selection for some years now. Their front page might be slow to load, but it's worth it. The other pages are much faster, so don't give up too soon. See all of Ray's abstract art prints on canvas.
