Animal Intelligence Study Proves That Parrots Have A Sense of Humour
How does one go about doing a serious animal intelligence study with a parrot that won't stop joking around?
That was the problem I had when I began recording Victor about two years ago. I knew he probably had the largest vocabulary of any bird in the world. I also knew that he was talking in context, but I wanted to provide some proof. As a result I started posting audio recordings on a website. Eventually it ended up being several hundred pages long. The only trouble was Victor was so funny that many people found his recordings too unbelievable to be true. It became more difficult to believe when he started telling long and funny stories that he thought up on his own and even translated bird talk to English for his mate. He eventually could talk about almost anything a human could. How bizarre can you get? But still true and real as anything could be.
So how do I get acknowledgement for making this discovery and proving it in the most reliable fashion available? Audio and video. Just because his recordings are funny, thier content should still be taken seriously. It cannot be denied as some of the most important research in the animal intelligence field in decades. Almost any scientist will tell you that parrots do not talk in context, but Victor proved they are totally wrong. This changes our whole concept of animal conciousness and puts them at an intelligence level almost at or equal to humans.
That is why I am writing this press release. I am inviting you to come to his website and hear his recordings. If you don't believe that this deserves careful consideration by the scientific community as credible animal intelligence research, let me know why. If you do think it is important, like I do, help me to spread the word and put science on the right track about parrot intelligence.
